Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group in Herndon, VA is seeking an Assessment and Authorization Specialist to support a Cyber Security team. You will drive RMF-based A&A activities, develop SSPs, run security scans, and manage patches across Windows and Linux environments.

The role emphasizes documentation, compliance, and collaboration with stakeholders to strengthen security controls and lifecycle processes within sponsor programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, information assurance, computer engineering, or related IT/cyber discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in RMF methodology.
• Experience managing document repositories and databases.
• Experience with process tracking software.
• Strong writing, communications, and briefing skills.
• Experience providing technical guidance to both technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of INFOSEC policies, regulations and guidance.
• Experience with cyber risks and mitigations for computers and networks.
• Strong customer service and collaboration with customers at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide Certification and Authorization support and develop a Systems Security Plan (SSP).
• Run and execute the A&A process, greenlight records.
• Run security scans and apply security updates.
• Patching and updates for Windows and Linux.
• Configure systems administration and deployment of laptops.
• shepherd systems through security process.
