Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an RME Operator in Bessemer, Alabama to support daily operations by learning to maintain and repair various equipment. The role involves performing maintenance tasks such as inspections and parts replacement while adhering to safety protocols.

Ideal candidates should have experience working within Amazon systems, possess basic math skills, and be able to work flexible schedules. The position offers compensation ranging from $15.57 to $18.32 per hour along with several benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.

Job Title: RME Operator

Job Description Summary

RME Operator (RMEO) supports the RME team in day-to-day work. No former electrical or mechanical experience is required.

About the Role

The RMEO role involves learning to maintain and repair conveyance systems, material handling equipment, and site‑specific building technologies. The primary focus is basic maintenance tasks on equipment, including inspections, clearing jams, replacing parts, and testing while adhering to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices while performing preventive maintenance checks on a variety of equipment.
• Replace spare parts on equipment following standard operation procedures.
• Use a laptop/tablet to manage work orders.
• Use basic workshop tools.

Basic Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Blue Badge Amazon Employee.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• 1+ years of technical problem‑solving experience.
• Experience with mechanical systems.
• Experience with electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical education in a related field.
• Associate degree in Mechatronics or high school CTE in Mechatronics.
• Experience working on an Amazon Robotics Floor.
• Experience working as an Amazon Amnesty Floor Monitor.

Physical Demands

• Ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, use an aerial lift, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Wear appropriate PPE such as hard hat, face mask, face shield, composite toe shoes.
• Squat or bend and reach to install/move equipment.
• Move between departments, floors, and properties, averaging 6–12 miles per day.
• Work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
• Type on a computer for 1–2 hours per day.

Compensation

The compensation for the position is: $15.57 – $18.32 per hour. The company will not pay less than minimum wage.
