Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) for the Zapata Family Medical Walk-In Clinic. The RMA will support clinical and administrative tasks, assist with procedures, manage exam rooms, and ensure efficient clinic operations while delivering excellent patient service.

Qualifications include 0-1 years in a medical setting or externship completion, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency in EMR and basic software. Certification as RMA and BCLS are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with clinical procedures including vital signs, wound care, sutures, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, urine tests, EKGs, splints.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms for visits and procedures.
• Performs patient intake duties, reports test results, handles phone triage, and documents information per guidance.
• Reviews and maintains daily logs and documentation.
• Supports administrative duties: pre-registering patients, scheduling, referrals, verifying eligibility, clinic communications.
• Maintains organized workload and delivers prompt, courteous service to providers, patients, and visitors.
• Monitors and requisitions clinic supplies and equipment to ensure inventory and function.
• Educates patients on medications, diet, and health topics; answers questions for understanding.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with policies and standards.
