Job summary

Field AI, based in Mission Viejo (Irvine-adjacent), is seeking a Robotics Autonomy Engineer – Locomotion to design and deploy RL-based locomotion controllers for legged and humanoid robots. You will work with simulation tools and real robots, bridging sim-to-real gaps.

The role involves building scalable RL pipelines, integrating Isaac Gym, MuJoCo, PyBullet, and collaborating across robotics stack to field deploy robust autonomous systems.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in reinforcement learning for continuous control.
• Hands-on experience deploying locomotion policies on real robots.
• Experience with legged robot platforms (quadruped, bipedal, or exoskeleton).
• Proficiency with sim-to-real transfer and domain randomization.

Responsibilities

• Design and Own RL-based locomotion pipelines for robots.
• Deploy locomotion behaviors on physical robots and validate on hardware.
• Build scalable simulation training environments and automate evaluation.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and perception teams to close the loop between learning and execution.
