Job summary

MountainTrue is seeking a French Broad River Program Coordinator in Asheville, NC, to expand the French Broad Riverkeeper program. You will coordinate volunteers, manage data, support monitoring and restoration projects, and engage communities to protect watershed health.

Work with the Riverkeeper to advance monitoring programs, support stewardship initiatives, and develop systems that respond to emerging water quality concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recreational water quality monitoring and reporting activities.
• Lead microplastics sampling efforts and data collection.
• Support real-time water quality monitoring stations: installation, maintenance, and calibration.
• Organize and manage water quality datasets (DMRs, NPDES, etc.).
• Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for sampling, restoration, and stewardship activities.
