Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Risk User Experience Specialist to respond to risk-related user inquiries and make risk decisions that maintain a smooth, trusted experience for customers.

You will review limit increases, overlimit transactions, and remote check deposits, ensuring decisions respect SLAs and safety. You’ll document rationales, write process guidance, and help scale risk workflows with teammates and tooling.

Qualifications

• Have experience working in banking, fintech, or other financial services.
• Have 2-3 years of experience working in the risk space.
• Have product sense and knowledge of banking products (e.g., ACH, International Wires, SWIFT, checks, and debit card).
• Exercise empathy and understanding when communicating with users.

Responsibilities

• Respond to limit request increases from high and moderate risk users with review of activity.
• Review overlimit transactions and approve or reject within cutoff times.
• Review remote check deposits submitted by users using internal tools.
• Maintain a high-volume caseload within SLAs with attention to detail.
• Document rationale and write clear process documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve observability, scalability, and tooling.
• Partner with BPO teams on escalations for check deposits and overlimit transactions.
• Maintain a positive user experience while mitigating fraud loss.
