Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Risk Specialist to support North American risk management and insurance programs. You will coordinate supplier prequalification, administer the insurance program, and maintain risk data systems. The role involves collaboration with Procurement, ISN, and external brokers, with travel within the U.S.

and Canada. The position requires 1–3 years in Insurance or Risk Management, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of risk management and insurance concepts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in Insurance or Risk Management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.
• Knowledge of risk management programs; knowledge of research and analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of insurance policies, certificates of insurance and surety, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the ISN Supplier Prequalification System with regular regional meetings and ISN training.
• Assist the Risk Manager in coordinating the placement and administration of the Company’s insurance program, including reviewing underwriting info for accuracy.
• Assist with Ventiv RIMS system, analyze data for accuracy, and maintain historical risk exposure schedules for property and liability programs.
• Distribute Vehicle ID cards and upload records into the company system.
• Manage the Surety program and process with brokers and field personnel to ensure timely issuance and updates.
• Coordinate with brokers to distribute certificates of insurance at renewal and process requests from third parties.
• Handle insurance-related invoicing, coding, tracking, auditing premium payments, and assisting with insurer/broker billing.
• Assist with inspections, audits, compliance activities, and technical inquiries, and provide guidance as needed.
• Develop and update processes, support acquisition projects, and assist the Risk Manager on ad hoc projects.
