We’re hiring a Risk & Safety Training Specialist to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!

The Details:
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
  • Pay: $17.85 per hour
  • Schedule: May include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Housing: Eligible for a private room in a shared apartment for $267 per month.

Responsibilities
  • Project a positive and welcoming presentation to all new staff, maintaining enthusiasm and representing the department and company encouragingly.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and adapt training mediums (in-person, blended, remote) to suit the audience.
  • Create training calendars, visual aids, teaching aids, and class outlines.
  • Present safety information during new hire orientation and facilitate property and corporate safety training across the South Rim.
  • Conduct effective classroom training and individual coaching, with experience in technical safety training a plus.
  • Work independently, complete projects efficiently, and maintain proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Schedule and track employee participation using Xanterra’s Learning Management System (L3).
  • Promote safety culture, serve on safety committees, and oversee safety campaigns and reports.
  • Maintain current CPR Instructor status and certifications as required, supporting safety initiatives and compliance.
  • Support remote locations (Hermit Rest and Phantom Range) and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • LMS experience is a plus
  • Maintain OSHA 10- & 30-hour certification and obtain OSHA Instructor Certification
  • Maintain Red Cross Instructor Certification
  • Obtain Training Certification via AHLEI (CHDT) or BCSP (STS)
  • Five years of general industry safety experience preferred
  • Curious with a passion for learning and helping employees succeed
