Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL is part of Universal Health Services, Inc. and is seeking a Risk Manager to lead risk management initiatives.

The role focuses on utilizing the TERM framework to reduce liability and foster a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position requires at least one year in risk management, with a strong focus on incident analysis, root cause testing, and collaboration with departments, legal, and corporate teams to drive continuous safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of Risk Management experience is required.
• State of Florida RN license, LCSW, or Risk Management related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required, Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Risk Manager is responsible for leading and supporting The Risk Management Plan through utilization of the T.E.R.M document to reduce liability exposure and promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role collaborates with departments across the organization to identify, analyze, and mitigate clinical and operational risks. Key responsibilities include managing the electronic event reporting system, coordinating the response to adverse events, supporting the patient grievance process, facilitating root cause analyses, and managing local claims in partnership with legal and corporate teams. The Risk Manager also provides risk-related education, maintains compliance with accreditation standards, and analyzes incident data to identify trends and recommend system-wide improvements. This position plays a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
