Job summary

OM Housing is seeking a Risk Manager to oversee insurance programs, claims, and risk controls across our properties and operations. The role emphasizes proactive risk guidance, contract reviews, and vendor oversight, with a flexible FT/PT arrangement and occasional travel.

The successful candidate will drive loss prevention, ensure compliance, and partner with leadership to shape risk posture across the organization. Remote-friendly with occasional in-person meetings near St. Cloud, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in Risk Management or P&C Insurance.
• Strong understanding of insurance programs, claims management, broker relationships, and contractual insurance requirements.
• CRM designation or willingness to obtain it.
• CIC certification is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Based in St. Cloud, Minnesota with a primarily remote working arrangement.
• Occasional business travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Insurance Program Management: Oversee Property & Casualty, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, and Fidelity insurance programs.
• Claims Management: Review incident reports, initiate insurance claims, coordinate adjuster inspections, and manage claims through resolution and settlement.
• Broker & Carrier Relationships: Manage insurance renewals, negotiate coverage, evaluate insurance options, and coordinate broker/carrier selection.
• Contract & Vendor Insurance Reviews: Review contractual insurance requirements and verify appropriate coverage for vendors, company vehicles, and equipment.
• Risk Management & Loss Prevention: Identify potential business exposures, recommend risk mitigation strategies, and help improve operational practices.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate insurance records, claims documentation, and policy-related information.

What We\'re Looking For

• Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation or willingness to obtain it.
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) certification is an added advantage.
