Step into a high-impact risk leadership role where your expertise will directly shape how a dynamic, fast-paced organisation protects its assets and supports growth. This is a rare opportunity to move beyond narrow lines of coverage and own a broad corporate risk portfolio, including captive management, in a highly visible position at the company's Coconut Grove HQ.
About the Role
As Risk Manager, you will own the end-to-end management of the company's corporate insurance and risk programs, ensuring appropriate coverage, efficient renewals, and robust risk mitigation across the organisation. You will act as a strategic business partner to senior stakeholders, combining hands-on execution with forward-looking risk strategy to support current and anticipated business objectives. Your work will safeguard the organisation's financial stability and operational resilience while continuously improving risk practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the company's captive insurance program, partnering closely with external captive managers to optimise structure, coverage, and performance.
- Lead and manage annual corporate insurance renewals across a wide variety of coverages, including program design, marketing to carriers, and negotiation of terms and pricing.
- Review insurance policies, endorsements, contracts, and related documentation to ensure appropriate risk transfer, coverage alignment, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Monitor and analyse the organisation's risk profile, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigation strategies and insurance solutions to leadership.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business operations and projects, advising on risk implications and structuring insurance and contractual protections accordingly.
- Support and oversee claims handling processes, working with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to drive effective resolution and minimise financial impact.
- Develop and maintain risk management processes, documentation, and reporting to improve visibility, decision-making, and continuous improvement across the risk function.
- Contribute to risk-related training and communication, reinforcing risk awareness and best practices throughout the organisation.
Key Requirements
- Five to seven years' experience in corporate risk management or insurance brokerage with a major insurance company or large brokerage firm.
- At least 3 years' experience managing corporate insurance renewals across multiple lines of coverage (not limited to auto insurance).
- Proven track record of identifying, assessing, and mitigating corporate risk in complex, fast-paced business environments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, comfortably shifting from planning and analysis to hands-on execution.
- Strong attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills, particularly in insurance policy, claims, and contract review.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, able to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively in a collaborative team setting.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across the organisation.
- Strong math and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with business systems and data tools.
Desirable Skills
- Prior experience transitioning from a large insurance brokerage to an in-house corporate risk management role.
- Hands-on experience with captive insurance structures and alternative risk financing.
- Working knowledge of platforms such as Salesforce, SharePoint, and business intelligence (BI) tools.
- Experience serving as a strategic business partner to senior leadership on risk and insurance matters.
- Background in developing or enhancing risk management frameworks, processes, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Management, or a closely related field.
- Professional risk or insurance designations (e.g., ARM, CPCU, CRM) preferred but not required.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in risk management, insurance, or related disciplines.
