Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a proactive Risk Manager / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a premier long-term care facility in a scenic coastal community. The role leads clinical quality and risk mitigation, with direct experience submitting accident and incident reportables to the DOH required.

You will partner with the DON to oversee daily nursing operations, drive high standards, conduct root-cause analyses, and ensure compliance with DOH regulations and state surveys.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
• Must have documented hands-on experience submitting accident and incident reportables directly to the Department of Health (DOH).
• 3+ years of RN experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or sub-acute facility.
• Prior experience as an ADON, Risk Manager, Quality Improvement Coordinator, or Clinical Supervisor in long-term care.
• Deep understanding of DOH reporting mandates, state surveys, and risk containment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the investigation, documentation, and mandatory reporting of all facility accidents, incidents, and reportable events to the DOH.
• Partner with the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee daily nursing operations and maintain high clinical quality standards across the facility.
• Conduct thorough root-cause analyses on clinical incidents and implement immediate corrective action plans.
• Ensure continuous compliance with federal, state, and local DOH regulations and lead state survey readiness.
• Educate and train nursing staff on safety protocols, risk reduction, and proper incident documentation.
