Job summary

Community Health Care is seeking a Risk Manager to lead our risk management program across seven clinics in Pierce County. You will identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to patient safety, privacy, workplace safety, and operations.

You will investigate incidents, develop policy, educate staff, and support regulatory compliance activities. The role requires a nursing degree with relevant risk/quality experience, current CPR, and WA RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 3 years’ experience OR AA in Nursing with 5 years’ experience in risk management, quality improvement, or community health.
• Clinical, supervisory, and administrative experience.
• Current CPR.
• Current Washington State RN Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Risk Management Program, including risk assessments and performance monitoring.
• Review incident reports, investigations, and root cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Track and report risk management trends to leadership and committees.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and resolve safety and operational risks.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, OSHA/WISHA, L&I, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct environmental, safety, and compliance audits and recommend actions.
• Review clinical tracking and after-hours reports to ensure standards and follow-up.
• Prepare risk management and regulatory reports for leadership and committees.
• Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and support Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Assist with development and revision of policies and procedures.

Under the direction of the Compliance Officer, the Risk Manager collaborates with the Compliance Officer and Quality Improvement leadership to oversee the organization's risk management program. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating organizational risks related to patient safety, regulatory compliance, privacy, workplace safety, and operational performance. The Risk Manager serves as a key resource in incident investigation, risk prevention, policy development, staff education, and regulatory compliance activities, while working closely with leadership and regulatory agencies to promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.**Essential functions (but not limited to):**1. Leads and oversees the organization's Risk Management Program, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and performance monitoring.2. Reviews incident reports, conducts investigations and root cause analyses, and ensures corrective actions are implemented.3. Tracks, analyzes, and reports risk management trends and outcomes to leadership and the Risk Management Committee.4. Collaborates with leadership to identify, investigate, and resolve safety concerns and operational risks.5. Monitors compliance with patient safety, infection control, OSHA/WISHA, L&I, and other regulatory requirements.6. Conducts environmental, safety, and compliance audits and recommends corrective actions when needed.7. Reviews clinical tracking and after-hours call reports to ensure adherence to clinical standards and follow-up requirements.8. Prepares risk management, safety, and regulatory compliance reports for leadership and committees.9. Facilitates Safety Committee meetings and supports organizational Quality Improvement initiatives.10. Assists with the development, review, and revision of clinical and administrative policies and procedures.11. Supports compliance with AAAHC, HRSA, FTCA, PCMH, Medicare, and other accreditation and regulatory standards.12. Participates in HIPAA breach investigations, privacy reviews, and required notification processes.13. Provides risk management, safety, compliance, and regulatory training to staff and supports new employee orientation.14. Serves as a liaison with public health authorities and other external regulatory agencies as needed.15. Performs other duties as assigned in support of organizational safety, quality, and compliance objectives.## Qualifications**Minimum requirements:**1.
