Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas seeks a risk management professional to oversee investigational activities for professional and general liability occurrences and to guide pre-litigation resolutions. The role requires an RN licensed in North Carolina and significant healthcare experience in loss prevention and safety management.

Responsibilities include proactive risk assessments, education, and liaison activities, with on-call emergency support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with NC RN license.
• Five years experience in healthcare required.
• Background in nursing or business administration with hospital experience.
• Experience in loss prevention, claims and/or safety management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, coordinate, and manage investigational and evaluation activities for liability occurrences and pre-litigation matters.
• Negotiate resolutions with authority from Administrative Director, Risk Management.
• Provide preventative risk management assessments of processes and programs, including inservice education and on-call emergency assistance.
