Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a student intern to support the Risk Management and Claims team. You will assist in processing insurance claims, tracking incidents, and maintaining records for General Liability and Auto claims. The role offers exposure to large-scale heavy civil projects and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Safety Management, Occupational Safety or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist Risk Management and Claims team with administration, tracking and processing of insurance claims.
• Process General Liability and Auto incidents in the claims system.
• Help manage minor claims inventory and document new claims.
• Enter and document claims from various channels; coordinate submissions to carriers.
• Support cost allocations and project chargebacks in the claims system.
• Organize and maintain claims records; run reports and assist with data analyses.
• Assist with subrogation and recovery efforts as assigned.
• Provide claim status updates to internal stakeholders and support risk projects.

Responsibilities

• Each assignment is typically 3-6 months

Typical Duties

• Students will support the Risk Management and Claims team in the administration, tracking, and processing of insurance claims and risk-related activities.
• Processing reported General Liability and Auto incidents through the claims management system
• Assisting with the management of minor General Liability and Auto claims inventory
• Entering and documenting new claims received through various reporting channels
• Processing self-reported claims and coordinating submission to insurance carriers
• Supporting claim cost allocations and project chargebacks through the claims system
• Scanning, organizing, and maintaining claims department records and documentation
• Running reports and assisting with presentations and data analysis
• Supporting subrogation and recovery efforts as assigned
• Providing claim status updates and communicating with internal stakeholders
• Assisting with additional risk management projects and departmental initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Risk Management, Safety Management, Occupational safety or another safety related degree
• Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
