Job summary

Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Co-Heads of Risk and their Risk Managers in New York. This role involves calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and collaboration on risk-focused projects.

Job description

Morgan Stanley Investment Management ("MSIM"), together with its investment advisory affiliates, operates in 26 countries with $1.9 Tn in assets under management or supervision as of March 31, 2026. MSIM strives to provide outstanding long-term investment performance, service and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations and individuals worldwide.

MSIM Risk Management is looking to add a dedicated Administrative Assistant to support the Co-Heads of Risk and their Risk Managers. The role will involve collaborating with other administrative assistants as needed.

Responsibilities include standard administrative functions such as scheduling/maintaining calendars, expense management, arranging travel and other miscellaneous administrative requirements, as well as Risk specific projects and tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist risk managers across multiple risk stripes with various processes including:
  • Keeping detailed committee meeting minutes
  • Administrative support for product approvals
  • Client requests & reporting
  • Seed capital notification management
  • Managing annual policy and procedure due diligence
  • Leverage AI for process improvement and streamlining projects
  • Schedule and maintain calendars
  • This involves coordinating times, communicating and corresponding with internal/external participants, scheduling rooms, addressing technology needs, and handling catering arrangements as needed.
  • Also involves using judgment with internal and external clients, navigating firm effectively, responding to requests, and having ability to re-prioritize calls/meetings as needed.
  • Make domestic/international travel arrangements
  • This includes developing detailed agendas, managing any visa requirements, and addressing other travel/logistics related requirements as needed.
  • Prepare, submit, and monitor expense reports.
  • Manage telephone coverage as needed, including responding to inquiries, routing calls, and taking detailed messages.
  • Demonstrate discretion with sensitive information related to firm, team, and/or staff.
  • Special projects and requests as needed.
Education & Experience
  • 8-10 years relevant administrative support experience, preferably in the asset management industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prioritization, attention to detail and accuracy, follow-up with a sense of urgency, and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently, ask for guidance as needed, and take direction.
  • Flexible attitude with the willingness to take on new projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Corporate Services Travel Online (CSTO), Concur a plus.

  1. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $43.27 – $50.48 per hour at the commencement of employment.
  2. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
