Job summary

Palms Casino Resort is seeking an entry-level Risk Management Coordinator reporting to the Director of Risk Management. The role supports the Risk Management team with technical and administrative tasks, maintains risk records, and assists with reports and special projects.

Responsibilities include handling calls, managing correspondence, entering incident reports into RMIS, processing COIs, and coordinating with departments.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or related software.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls, field inquiries, manage phone lines, direct calls and screen communications.
  • Enter and maintain incident reports and COI in RMIS; review COI requirements.
  • Process incident reports, send denial letters if needed, notify vendors, collect and analyze documentation.
  • Submit invoices in a timely manner; loss runs review and upload.
  • Assist scheduling team members' legal interviews and depositions; participate in weekly Security Department meetings.
  • Perform other duties to support Risk Management operations.

Job description

An entry-level coordinator that reports to the Director of Risk Management. The Risk Management Coordinator performs a wide variety of technical and office administrative risk management support functions, including providing information and assistance to team members, guests/patrons, insurance administrators and counsels. Files claims, maintains risk management records, and researchers and compiles a variety of reports. Performs special projects and provides responsible and complex technical and administrative support. Performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handling incoming calls, fielding inquiries, managing phone lines, directing calls, and screening communications.
  • Managing, sorting, and responding to incoming physical and digital correspondence on behalf of Risk Management team.
  • Responsible for entering, maintaining incident reports and certificate of insurance (COI) into the Risk Management Information System (RMIS).
  • Reviewing COI minimum requirements are met and maintains Certificate of Insurance and logs for departments.
  • Process incident reports, sending denial letters if needed, notifying vendors of such incidents, collecting and analyzing appropriate documentation.
  • Maintaining office files and creating processes to maximize office efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relations with other departments and organizations.
  • Submit invoices in a timely manner.
  • Loss runs review and upload.
  • Assist with scheduling team members' legal interviews & deposition.
  • Assist with conducting weekly meetings with Security Department Meetings participation within other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Risk Management department.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, business administration, finance, human resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Entry-level coordinator, some experience in risk management, compliance, safety administration, claims processing, and general office operations preferred.
  • Ability to review incident reports, track loss trends, and organize large amounts of information.
  • Strong work knowledge of Microsoft Office, database and incident-reporting software.
  • Basic understanding of local compliance rules, safety regulations, and/or liability concepts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Sitting at a computer for long, continuous periods to manage claims data, review surveillance notes, and process safety reports.
  • Using a keyboard, mouse, and phone systems for data entry and communication.
  • Clear vision (close-up and distance) to review documents, alongside good hearing and speaking skills to communicate with staff, guests, and Patrons.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light office supplies, files or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Working in environments with moderate to high noise levels, flashing casino lights, and exposure to cigarette smoke or dense crowds during floor walks.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, if needed.
