CIFC Asset Management LLC (together with its affiliates, “CIFC”) is a corporate and structured credit investment firm serving institutional investors globally. The firm manages over $47 billion in assets across collateralized loan obligations, corporate credit funds, structured credit funds, and separately managed accounts. Position Summary:
The Risk Management Associate will report to the Head of Risk Management to facilitate risk identification and mitigation across the firm (including New York and London operations). The Risk Management Associate will also interact with all members of senior management on a regular basis as part of their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Head of Risk Management to review fund documentation to understand investment restrictions. Summarize investment restrictions for IT staff and conduct testing.
- Member of onboarding committee for new fund launches.
- Testing and implementation of investment restrictions in new IT systems.
- Review compliance with investment restrictions. Work with Head of Risk Management to research potential breachers, notify relevant parties and determine solutions to prevent future breaches.
- Respond to external service providers’ questions and requests regarding investment restrictions.
- IT integration.
- Ensure front office applications can accommodate new investor requests from research / portfolio management perspective.
- Design, communicate and test front office application updates and changes.
- Develop automations tools and workflow modifications / changes for research department needs.
- Research tools, vendors and systems for various initiatives (risk reports, ESG, etc.).
- Manage counterparty approval process for trading counterparties.
- Manage weekly portfolio reporting for CIO including default reporting.
- Initiate reviews of CIFC watch status and risk ratings. Assist with payment default forecast review.
- Monitor ratings (both internal and external) for errors and manage credit estimate process.
- Assist with preparation of reporting for CIFC’s Board of Directors and Risk Management Committee.
- Assist with other reporting (investor reports, certain valuation committee reports, etc.).
- Attend daily investment committee and regular portfolio review meetings.
- Assist the Portfolio Managers and Capital Markets team with ad hoc projects and produce portfolio and market analytics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably at an asset management firm.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Personable - ability to build relationships and partnerships internally and externally.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
