Lead Risk Management Analyst (CCO)

Description:

This role supports the operation of the risk function by evaluating and analyzing risks of varying complexity, and by identifying and implementing approaches to mitigate those risks. The focus may include specific types of risk such as financial or operational risk. The analyst may advise management based on their expertise. Typically, a professional qualification in risk management or equivalent is required. The role involves working under minimal supervision, understanding business needs, and supporting projects that impact operational goals.

Requires advanced skills and proficiency with procedures and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop specialized risk assessment scopes through research and analysis.
  • Collaborate with management to optimize risk assessment processes.
  • Identify potential business, operational, and regulatory risks, as well as process deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Gather, synthesize data, and present conclusions with risk mitigation and process improvement recommendations.
  • Lead or assist in administering risk assessment and testing of business activities, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance with regulations, laws, and company standards.
  • Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency and risk mitigation processes.
  • Prepare and present risk assessment reports, trends, and mitigation strategies to management and relevant business units.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant business area.
  • Advanced understanding of risk-based auditing techniques and methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-departmental projects.
  • Strong understanding of operational and regulatory risk control concepts.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute risk mitigation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Auditing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
