The EHS intern hired will be introduced to the EHS & Risk Management environment through practical exercise and review as well as theoretical learning through conversation, presentations, and multiple educational resources. It will be the goal of the Risk and Safety team to supply the intern with a well-rounded introduction to the legal system, regulatory bodies involved in the safety industry, basic medical knowledge, and general investigative/inspection practices. The program will allow the intern to get hands on practice with investigating injuries, root cause analysis, and good record keeping practices.
After hire, the intern will complete a questionnaire outlining their goals and objectives for the program and what they believe their career path will be so that a focus can be established for their time in the internship. Further, they will be given an end of program completion project which will essentially be a summary of their experiences during the internship so that they can immediately begin documenting these experiences from their first day on.
