Job summary

Hydrite is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) intern to support compliance across designated facilities in Milwaukee, WI. You will gain hands-on experience with High Risk Program Review, Management of Change, Job Safety Analysis, incident reviews, PPE management, and SOP-driven duties.

You\'ll report to the EHS Manager and collaborate with professionals to uphold Hydrite’s standards of excellence while developing technical and communication skills in a real-world setting.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, EHS, or Natural Sciences.
  • Minimum of 2 years of undergraduate coursework completed by start of internship.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees and management.
  • Strong English reading and writing skills; proficiency with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned projects including but not limited to: High Risk Program Review.
  • Assist with Management of Change.
  • Assist with Job Safety Analysis.
  • Support Incident Review & Investigation including 5 Why analysis.
  • Assist PPE procurement & management.
  • Perform duties outlined in SOPs and other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through ongoing commitment to quality facilities and services.

The primary purpose of this position is to support all environmental, health, and safety compliance in the designated Hydrite facilities. Through this program, the intern will receive hands on experience in EHS responsibilities and demonstrate understanding through successful completion of the program.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Successfully complete assigned projects including but not limited to:
  • High Risk Program Review
  • Management of Change
  • Job Safety Analysis
  • Assist with Incident Review & Investigation including 5 Why analysis and other review techniques
  • Assist in the management of the facilities PPE procurement & management
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the EHS Manager

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, EHS, or Natural Sciences required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of undergraduate degree coursework completed by start of internship.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees and management
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
