This role involves working at an MUFG office or client sites four days a week, with one remote day. Further details will be provided by our recruitment team.

The successful candidate will focus on internal and external compliance activities to ensure Operations & Technology meet regulatory and audit milestones. Responsibilities include engaging with regulators and leadership, collaborating with colleagues to prepare and review submissions, managing follow-ups, establishing processes, and developing stakeholder matrices and reporting mechanisms.

This is a first-line role responsible for assessing newly identified risks, threats, and findings across our technology business. You will partner with operations and technology teams to manage governance, review new risks, identify control gaps, and ensure remediation. You will oversee Technology Findings Management, Exceptions Management, and Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) governance.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage and oversee technology findings remediation processes and reporting aligned with threat and vulnerability management objectives.
  2. Assist with end-to-end process management for technology findings, including roles across remediation and validation teams.
  3. Design and implement effective governance for technology findings.
  4. Develop processes for assessing emerging risks, evaluating control effectiveness, and addressing gaps.
  5. Establish routines to ensure awareness, ownership, and execution of findings and control gaps.
  6. Engage with stakeholders and collaborate with senior business partners.
  7. Recruit, develop, and retain risk management talent.
  8. Govern Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational risk appetite and strategic goals.
  9. Define and refine metric criteria, thresholds, and escalation triggers with stakeholders.
  10. Monitor and report on RAS metrics to senior leadership and the board.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies related to RAS metrics.
  12. Create dashboards, reports, and summaries to communicate RAS metrics effectively.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, risk management, computer science, or related fields.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CRISC are preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in technology, risk, and control functions.
  • Experience in financial institutions, Big 4 audits, or regulated environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT risk frameworks like COSO, COBIT, NIST, and ITIL.
  • Understanding of banking, lending, capital markets, and payment operations.
  • Familiarity with U.S. regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in risk assessments, testing, and control evaluations.
  • Prior supervisory experience and talent development skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with senior managers and regulators.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under deadlines.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to influence across stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to best practices.

The typical base salary range for this role is $88,000 to $111,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and location. The role may include performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, retirement, educational support, paid leave, and more.
