Flexcar in Downtown Boston, MA is seeking a Risk Data Scientist to own the full lifecycle of our risk modeling stack, from building and calibrating models to translating results into actionable risk decisions. This is a hands-on role with influence across Risk, Finance, Product, and Operations, balancing growth against risk exposure.

You will manage model platforms, data inputs from vendors, and ongoing monitoring while collaborating to set risk thresholds that align with business targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business or related discipline.
• 3+ years in a data science or quantitative modeling role with measurable output.
• Experience with AI-first solutions to drive high-velocity results.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with real-world data.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying predictive models in production.

Responsibilities

• Build, refine, and maintain eligibility models and risk scoring frameworks for real-time decisions.
• Own calibration and improvement of risk scores and behavioral models.
• Lead feature selection, target variable development, and model validation.
• Monitor model performance and coordinate with risk, finance, and engineering teams.
