Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Risk Control/Occupational Safety intern to gain hands-on safety and insurance experience under a mentor. You will work across multiple business units learning risk control, conduct safety inspections, and prepare technical reports to support customers in minimizing exposures.

The program emphasizes teamwork, exposure to leadership, and networking through social events. A hybrid work setup, housing and meal stipends are offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Obtain a minimum in‑major GPA of 3.00
• Expected graduation date of May 2028
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Clear MVR and background check
• Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience

Responsibilities

• Partner with experienced safety consultants across multiple Sentry business units to learn the ropes of risk control.
• Conduct safety walkthroughs and facility inspections across diverse industries, including property, workers compensation, liability, auto, and others.
• Prepare technical reports and develop actionable recommendations to help customers minimize safety exposures.
• Gain deep exposure to evaluating different lines of insurance risk, including property, workers’ compensation, liability, and auto.
• Team up with sales associates to consult directly with customers on the principles that keep workplaces safe
