Federated Mutual Insurance Company is offering a Risk Consultant Internship in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

The internship runs from June 7, 2027 to August 12, 2027 and provides hands-on projects, mentorship, and opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to real client scenarios. Interns will start with a training session at our Owatonna, MN headquarters, then return to the Twin Cities region to engage with clients.

Qualifications

• Current college students (Junior or Senior) pursuing a bachelor's degree.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Strong communication skills, adaptability, and an eagerness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Analyze fire hazards to identify potential risks and develop prevention strategies.
• Visit client sites within your assigned territory to gather insights and provide actionable support.
• Build and foster relationships with clients and internal partners in Marketing and Underwriting by facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
• Manage assigned workloads, ensuring timely and quality deliverables while maintaining efficiency.
• Deliver a final presentation summarizing your internship experience, achievements, and learnings to leadership.

What Will You Do?

This role requires you to live in or near the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area, as you'll regularly visit clients within your assigned territory.

You’ll begin your internship with a dedicated training session at our Headquarters in Owatonna, MN, where you’ll gain all the knowledge and tools needed for a successful summer. This session sets the foundation for your work, ensuring you're fully equipped to take on challenges with confidence. After your training, you’ll return to the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area to start engaging with our clients and applying what you’ve learned.

Minimum Requirements:

The pay is $31.50 per hour.
