Job summary

Benifex is seeking a Risk Consultant to provide full consultancy on Risk Benefits to mid-to-high value customers using OneHub, our online benefits platform. You will manage, retain, and grow corporate clients across Group Risk services including Income Protection and Critical Illness.

The role emphasises client meetings, cross-selling, and delivering high-quality risk solutions for a diverse portfolio within a supportive, fast-growing company.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of commercial delivery and business development of Risk customers.
  • Proven experience delivering risk consulting advice to large corporate customers.
  • GR1 qualified (or working towards it) and knowledge of FCA procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to profitable revenue growth across multiple services and the team strategy.
  • Understand customer accounts, their risk strategies, and decision makers.
  • Secure broking meetings and lead presentations and negotiations.
  • Cross-sell and expand services per customer across groups.
  • Ensure timely delivery of services per the project plan with client-facing teams.

Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Consultant in our wonderful Corporate Benefits team! This is an ideal progression step for those wanting to take their next step in broking consultancy.

As a Risk Consultant you will provide full consultancy services on Risk Benefits to a portfolio of mid to high value customers who will predominantly be based on our online flexible benefits platform - OneHub. This will involve managing, retaining, and growing corporate customers that span multiple service lines within Group Risk, such as Group Income Protection, Critical Illness, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to profitable revenue growth across multiple services and the achievement of the Corporate Benefits’ team strategy, plans and targets.

  • To build detailed knowledge of each of customer account, their Risk strategy/approach and decision makers to fully understand their aims, objectives and ambitions.

  • Secure broking meetings, coordinating relevant product and service experts and stakeholders as required. Compile and lead high quality presentations and negotiations.

  • Expand the level of business within existing services and expand the number of services per customer (cross sell).

  • To ensure timely delivery of agreed services to the client in line with the Benifex project plan. This will involve working closely with Benifex Client Service Directors and Strategic Consultancy team members to deliver terms as required by the business. This may involve weekly project calls and attending and presenting at quarterly client meetings

What are we looking for?

  • Proven successful track record of commercial delivery and business development of Risk customers

  • Proven experience of delivering Risk consulting advice and solutions, as well as presenting to, large corporate customers

  • Technical proficiency:

    • Advanced knowledge of how Group Risk products (Group Life Assurance, Income Protection, Critical Illness, Travel Insurance and Partner Life Assurance etc.).

    • GR1 qualified (or working towards it)

    • Clear understanding of FCA procedures and requirements

  • Able to recognise and ensure delivery of customer service excellence

  • Financial / P&L management and budgeting experience

  • Excellent customer relationship building and stakeholder management skills with ability to build a network of contacts, both internally and externally

  • Consultative selling skills

  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work cross functionally across diverse teams, facilitating collaborative working to ensure delivery for customers

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the corporate benefits environment
