Job summary

MainframeMaster is seeking an experienced Test Architect to lead end-to-end testing for a large z/VSE to z/OS migration program. You will define testing strategy, governance, and risk-based plans across applications, data, security, and operations to ensure release readiness.

The role requires deep Mainframe testing and migration expertise with a focus on identifying high-risk areas and guiding federated teams through testing planning, execution, and validation of migrated workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading migration testing for mainframe modernization projects.
• Ability to define testing strategy, standards, gates, and governance for complex programs.
• Proven track record delivering test plans across large-scale mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and own migration testing strategy, framework, and roadmap.
• Establish testing standards, entry/exit criteria, and governance processes.
• Develop risk-based testing aligned to migration waves and cutover milestones.
• Provide executive reporting on testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and release readiness.
• Lead cross-team defect triage and remediation across mainframe, application, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Coordinate testing activities across COBOL, CICS, JCL, data migration, and batch processing domains.
• Validate functional equivalence and operational readiness of migrated workloads.
