This role is remote with a flexible schedule, typically 8 hours per day starting at 8 am. As a Risk & Insurance Consultant, you will handle complex claims across various coverage lines, including investigations, carrier reporting, and collaboration to resolve claims. You will also oversee claims functions such as payment audits, claim reviews, and manage relationships with third-party administrators. Experience with Risk Management Information Systems like Riskonnect or Origami is highly desirable.
This position is fully remote and available in the following states only: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WA, WI & WY.
Provide guidance on risk evaluation, transfer, and financing to protect organizational assets. Act as an adviser on decision-making, risk mitigation, insurance policies, and claim investigations. Oversee complex claim handling, including investigations and collaboration with insurance carriers. Conduct claims oversight functions such as audits and payment verification. Assist in designing insurance programs to minimize financial impact, covering property, auto, liability, workers' compensation, and more. Collaborate with brokers and risk management consultants as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in management or business.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, especially with claims, risk finance, and commercial insurance.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and claims handling skills. Self-directed with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in patient and customer communication, investigation, and data analysis. Ability to lead and manage change.
- Master's Degree in Business or Insurance preferred.
- ARM or CPCU certifications preferred.
- Broker or insurance company experience preferred.
- Additional related education or experience is a plus.
