University of Utah Risk & Insurance Services ( URIS ) provides entrepreneurial and innovative services that assist individuals, departments, and administrators in identifying, managing, and monitoring risks associated with their programs and activities. URIS encourages ingenuity and leverages the upside of risk. This position provides administrative, operational, and professional support to the Director and Managers of Risk & Insurance Services. The incumbent performs a wide range of ongoing functions and serves as a resource for internal stakeholders at all levels of the University, as well as external partners. This role offers an opportunity to learn and develop skills within the risk management and insurance profession. The successful candidate will be a team-oriented, detail-focused, and self-motivated professional with strong organizational and communication skills. The individual must be comfortable handling difficult conversations with internal and external parties, demonstrate reliability and accountability, and maintain confidentiality while managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, subject to departmental needs and University policies.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
