Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a risk analyst to drive risk assessment projects, produce actionable recommendations, and support the implementation of new risk programs. The role involves collaboration with management and cross-functional teams to strengthen risk controls across the organization.

The candidate will analyze risks affecting operations, performance, and strategic objectives, and develop comprehensive risk reports for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
  • A background in risk, compliance or audit is preferred.
  • Strong organization skills and relationship building are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant to management by completing projects and preparing recommendations for improving current practices or implementing new programs in the Risk function.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative analyses to support programming and new products/services.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures and deliver risk-focused recommendations to leadership.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks affecting operations, performance, and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify emerging risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Track risk indicators and communicate findings to leadership and stakeholders.

Job description

Key Activities
  • Serves as a "consultant" to management by completing projects and preparing recommendations for improving current practices or implementing new programs and process within the Risk function.
  • Works on assignments that range from quantitative analytical projects and qualitative analysis in support of programming.
  • Leads ad hoc qualitative analysis such as supporting the research, recommendations and implementation of new products and services and developing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks affecting the organization's operations, performance, and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Track risk indicators consistently and communicate findings to leadership, stakeholders, and relevant parties.
  • Develop comprehensive risk reports and deliver presentations tailored for both internal and System stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and evolving trends in enterprise risk management.
  • Lead risk awareness training sessions and facilitate workshops to promote a strong culture of risk understanding throughout the organization.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires at least 3 years of relevant experience. A background in risk, compliance or audit are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
  • Strong organization skills and relationship building are preferred.

Salary
  • $64,000 -$82,8000 / Analyst Experienced level
  • $71,100-$92,000 / Analyst Senior level
  • Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate's qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
