Cherry Bekaert’s Risk Advisory team is growing. As an Risk Advisory Intern, you will support risk and accounting engagements, focusing on internal controls, SOX, and risk analytics for diverse clients.

Candidates are juniors pursuing a bachelor’s in Accounting or CIS with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, and should be prepared for a deadline-driven environment, travel to client sites, and pursuing CPA/CIA designations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or CIS.
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred.
• Interest in internal accounting controls, professional standards and regulations and information systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines with a focus on details.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
• Willing to pursue CPA or CIA designations.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the performance of risk consulting and accounting engagements for clients.
• Assist in risk management, internal controls and SOX engagements, and report composition.
• Maintain client relationships and understand business needs to achieve engagement objectives.
• Provide recommendations regarding client risks over financial reporting, compliance, operations and fraud.
