Job summary

ESB Technologies is seeking a Jr. Systems Administrator to support daily ops, server/storage maintenance, and basic networking. You’ll help with DNS/DHCP, patching, backups, and documentation, while gaining exposure to VMware/Hyper-V and cloud platforms.

Travel to multiple sites may be required, with on-site work five days a week. The ideal candidate has 3 years in IT support or junior admin roles, foundational networking knowledge, and relevant certs such as A+/Network+/Security+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree/certificate in information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years IT work experience in technical support, help desk, or junior systems administration role.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+.
• Strong foundation in networking and Active Directory administration; willingness to learn and document procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participate in team projects and assignments to support infrastructure initiatives.
• Support configuration and administration of virtual servers in VMware and Hyper-V environments.
• Assist with patching and system updates to reduce vulnerabilities and maintain health.
• Maintain and verify backup systems; participate in disaster recovery testing and documentation.
• Support user and group management using Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Configure and maintain core services such as DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Certificates.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting and document equipment/status.
• Assist with monitoring network and system health using departmental tools.
• Support deployment of switches, access points, and cabling under supervision.
• Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps as directed.
• Travel to remote locations for equipment deployment and support as needed.
• Participate in after-hours work and on-call rotation as assigned.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must report to work in the office 5 days a week.
