Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education teacher for the RISE program in Texas. You will deliver instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, History, and Adaptive PE to students with diverse disabilities, and you will support families with planning and resources for long-term student success.

You will develop and implement IEPs, track student progress, coordinate related services, and participate in district-wide and campus initiatives to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a Special Education classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required); appropriate grade and subject band core content certification(s) or Texas Core Content Competency Worksheet (required).

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
• Develop IEPs for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs and track progress.
• Communicate progress with families weekly.
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays when needed.
