Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education RISE teacher to work with students who have diverse learning needs. The role focuses on delivering instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, History, and Adaptive PE while developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students.

The position emphasizes high expectations, collaboration with families, and participation in school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities (strongly preferred).
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required); appropriate grade and subject band core content certification(s) or Texas Core Content Competency Worksheet (required).

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect progress and goals.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
• Collaborate with management and participate in weekly meetings.
