Job summary

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Glenhope Elementary in Colleyville, Texas is seeking a Special Education Assistant for the RISE program for the 2026-27 school year. The role supports students with significant developmental disabilities in a self-contained setting and assists in implementing IEP-driven instruction.

The position reports to the principal and requires a high school diploma or higher with possible further education or certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in an educational environment preferred.
• Pass an academic assessment or 48+ hours of college study.
• Educational Aide Certification may be applied for after employment.
• 48+ hours of study in higher education, Associate's Degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist students with social, communication, mobility, and behavioral challenges.
• Help with physical needs and personal care including feeding, bathroom, and hygiene.
• Assist with transferring and positioning for students with physical disabilities.
• Adapt assignments and support curriculum following IEP guidelines.
• Support teachers with lesson plans and student skills development.
• Maintain confidentiality.
