Job summary

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza seeks a detailed-oriented Rights & Reproductions Coordinator to manage copyright, permissions, licensing and reproduction requests related to the Museum’s collections and institutional assets.

Reporting to the Head of Collections & Registration, the Coordinator researches rights, evaluates requests, prepares agreements and ensures materials are used in accordance with Museum policies. This role requires strong research, organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
• 3+ years in copyright, licensing or rights management.
• Knowledge of copyright law, fair use and licensing practices.
• Experience reviewing documents and managing agreements.
• Strong organization and communication skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming rights, reproduction, permission and licensing requests for Museum collection materials and institutional assets.
• Research and document copyright ownership, usage rights, restrictions and intellectual property status.
• Prepare and administer licensing agreements, permissions, contracts and related documentation.
• Coordinate image, audiovisual and other reproduction requirements for Museum publications, exhibitions, media and educational projects.
• Maintain accurate records of licenses, agreements, permissions, fees, expirations and correspondence.
• Track payments and revenue associated with licensing and reproduction activities.
• Conduct copyright research to clarify ownership, restrictions and permitted uses.
• Review proposed uses and identify legal, ethical, contractual or reputational considerations.
• Collaborate with Museum leadership on sensitive or high-profile requests.
• Help develop and maintain rights policies, procedures, fee structures and documentation.
• Stay current on copyright law, fair use, licensing practices and digital collections issues.
• Partner with Registrar, Archivist and Digital Preservation Archivist to connect rights information to collection records.
• Support exhibitions, publications, educational programs, marketing initiatives and other projects requiring collection content.
• Provide guidance to staff on copyright, permissions, licensing restrictions and appropriate use.
• Support grant-funded and collections-based projects requiring copyright review or rights assessment.
