Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a full-time Project Manager for Right of Way projects in the Midwest (MO/IL/IN/OH/KY). You will oversee land acquisition, negotiations, title research, and project financials while engaging clients and expanding business opportunities.

The role requires strong communication skills, staff leadership, and willingness to travel for project sites and client meetings. This position serves as the Right of Way lead on major utility projects, reporting to the Right of Way

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; experience may substitute degree.
  • 7+ years related professional experience; 3+ years managing Right of Way projects preferred.
  • Experience with electric transmission projects preferred.
  • St Louis MO or Columbus OH officeing options; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to manage expectations and deliverables.
  • Provide project oversight and coordination with contingent workforce.
  • Maintain and expand client relationships; solicit new business lines.
  • Read and interpret title and appraisal reports and land surveys.
  • Coordinate team efforts and manage documentation and meetings.
  • Direct subcontractor management for land acquisition activities.
  • Lead or participate in contract negotiations and proposal preparation.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with client Right-of-Way department and internal staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies.
  • Travel to project sites and client events as required.
