The City of Mansfield is seeking a Right of Way Inspector in the Engineering Services Department. This field position oversees permitting and inspection of franchise and dry utility work within city rights‑of‑way and easements to protect infrastructure and public safety.

You will review permits, research records, coordinate with applicants, inspect work for compliance, restore disturbed areas, respond to public concerns, and liaise with other departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver's license, Class C.
• Minimum of two (2) years of public works construction experience, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with public safety requirements, preferred.
• Familiarity with subsurface utilities or GIS, preferred.
• TCEQ Water/Wastewater and irrigation licenses preferred.

Responsabilités

• Permit Review - Review, process, and approve right-of-way permit applications for franchise and dry utility construction.
• Records Research - Research existing public infrastructure record drawings to inform permit review and inspection.
• Applicant Coordination - Assist in coordinating proposed work with permit applicants before submittal when necessary.
• Construction Inspection - Inspect and observe construction activities for compliance with the permit and City Standards, including safety.
• Citizen Response - Respond to citizens' concerns related to permitted activity in a timely and professional manner.
• Interdepartmental Coordination - Coordinate work with other City departments to resolve infrastructure conflicts.
• Restoration and Compliance - Ensure adequate restoration of disturbed areas and prevent unpermitted activity.
• Equipment Care - Maintain efficient and safe operation of assigned equipment.
• Additional Duties - Perform other inspection needs as operationally required.
