The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Real Property Agent I (S) to acquire rights of way for highway projects and negotiate settlements with property owners. Positions cover multiple western NC divisions, with primary offices in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Albemarle, North Wilkesboro, Shelby, Asheville, and Sylva.

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in the general real estate field.
• High school graduation and seven years of experience in the general real estate field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience as allowed by policy.

Responsabilidades

• Acquire rights of way for highway construction and negotiate transactions.
• Contact property owners and prepare conveyance instruments for acquisitions.
• Interpret federal/state laws and Uniform Relocation Act requirements.
• Collaborate with Property Management Unit, Utility Unit, and Attorney General’s office.
• Interpret and convey project requirements to the public and ensure compliance with regulations.
