Job summary

BAC Manufacturing is seeking a Mechanic I to clear lines using heavy equipment and cranes, while mentoring junior mechanics. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficiency in shipping operations. The incumbent will read blueprints, manage measurements, and document processes to support plant objectives.

Expect variable shifts, strong problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet customer shipping needs and maintain 5S standards.

Qualifications

• Must operate major and minor material handling equipment safely.

POSITION PURPOSEA shop hourly position with the primary responsibilities of clearing lines using heavy equipment / cranes / and other forklift related items as required by assembly. As a senior mechanic, he/she is an influencer, who leads junior mechanics or teams as assigned. The Mechanic I is a problem solver, critical thinker, independent worker, and possesses a positive attitude, flexibility that strives to meet the needs of his or her customers. Must ensure that all product for internal and external customers is moved safely and efficiently throughout the shipping process. As a senior mechanic, expertise may be requested to participate on regional project teams. Standing is to be expected up to 80% of the time. Additional physical activities include walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and sitting. Fine hand manipulation of controls is needed, as well as hand-eye coordination to perform changes. Typical working hours will be 2pm to 10:30pm, however, working hours can include any of three shifts and employee must be flexible.
