Job summary

The Theater Outsource Inc is seeking a Rigging Inspector to perform on-site stage-rigging and equipment inspections nationwide. You will deliver detailed reports, interpret drawings, and support sales, project management, and installation teams.

Applicants should have at least five years’ rigging experience, ETCP Theatre Rigger certification (or plan to obtain within six months), strong safety knowledge, and the ability to travel extensively; lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of professional stage-rigging experience.
  • ETCP Theatre Rigger certification, or plan to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Strong understanding of theatrical rigging, stage equipment, safety practices, building plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Acrobat or Bluebeam, and Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
  • Excellent organization, documentation, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely at heights.
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site inspections of theatrical rigging and stage-equipment systems in venues.
  • Complete timely, detailed inspection reports and supporting documentation.
  • Interpret specifications, building plans, drawings, and riser diagrams.
  • Provide technical and system-design guidance to sales and project-management teams.
  • Coordinate labor and materials required to complete inspections.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Learn and apply company inspection, system-design, and installation standards.
  • Help grow inspection and preventative-maintenance services.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, clients, installers, and internal teams to solve field issues.

Job description

Compensation: $75,000-85,000, based on experience

The Opportunity

A growing theatrical systems integrator is seeking an experienced Rigging Inspector to perform stage-rigging and equipment inspections, produce clear reports and recommendations, and help expand its inspection and maintenance service offering.

This is a hands-on role supporting sales, project management, installation teams, and clients nationwide. You will need strong knowledge of theatrical rigging systems, applicable ANSI standards, entertainment-specific codes, drawings, specifications, and safe work practices.

What You'll Do
  • Perform on-site inspections of theatrical rigging and stage-equipment systems in a variety of venues.
  • Complete timely, detailed inspection reports and supporting documentation.
  • Interpret specifications, building plans, drawings, and riser diagrams.
  • Provide technical and system-design guidance to sales and project-management teams.
  • Coordinate labor and materials required to complete inspections.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Learn and apply company inspection, system-design, and installation standards.
  • Help grow inspection and preventative-maintenance services.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, clients, installers, and internal teams to solve field issues.
What You Bring
  • At least five years of professional stage-rigging experience.
  • ETCP Theatre Rigger certification, or the qualifications and commitment to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Strong understanding of theatrical rigging, stage equipment, safety practices, building plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Acrobat or Bluebeam, and Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
  • Excellent organization, documentation, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
  • A valid driver's license and flexibility to travel extensively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely at heights, including on ladders, lifts, and stage grids.
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with motorized hoists, rigging automation, or related control systems.
  • Experience integrating rigging with lighting, AV, or other performance systems.
