Job summary

Mazzella in Memphis, TN is hiring a Rigging Inspection Technician, an entry-level front-line role with direct customer contact. You will inspect items, interpret codes, generate reports, and ensure QA standards are met, while maintaining safety and a clean work area.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, good written and verbal communication, and a willingness to learn ANSI/OSHA guidelines. Training for inspector credentials and safety programs is provided.

Qualifications

  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret and understand codes, instructions and specifications per inspection
  • Inspect items as directed, determine if items pass or fail, document/submit appropriate report(s) as required.
  • Produce all varieties of predetermined inspections to meet or exceed QA standards.
  • Move and handle material as required to complete inspection
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and completely, i.e. inspection reports.
  • Report defective or substandard material or products to customer and Supervisor
  • Inspect and document each item as required; obtain customer signatures on the SRO
  • Display courteous professional service; address customer issues with appropriate personnel
  • Maintain work area, company vehicle and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; follow all Safety Guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Review, interpret and understand codes, instructions and specifications per inspection
  • Inspect items as directed, determine if items pass or fail, document/submit appropriate report(s) as required.

  • Move and handle material as required to complete inspection
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and completely, i.e. inspection reports, etc.

Summary
Education

A high school diploma or GED is required; trade school or military experience a plus

Experience & Skills
  • Experience in a service, inspection, or production environment is a plus.
  • A working knowledge of manufacturers and industry standards, including ANSI and OSHA, is a plus but will train the right candidate meeting our cultural requirements.
  • Certified inspector a plus but will train the right candidate meeting our cultural requirements.
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required.
  • Overall basic IT/PC/Technology literacy a plus but will train the right candidate.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
