Job summary

Integrity Staffing Services is recruiting a local/nonlocal Rigger for Newport News, VA, in the ship repair industry. The role involves rigging operations, lifting and placing heavy components, and calculating weight, CG, and lift-point capacities to select the proper gear.

You must be willing to work all three shifts (7am-3:30pm, 3:30pm-12am, 11pm-7am). Per diem is offered, and ongoing scaffolding duties are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Stage building.
• Knowledge of ships and valves, to pumps, motors and electronic equipment, to the largest machinery and structural components – riggers can lift, manipulate, and set them into place
• Able to calculate the weight and center of gravity of the item being handled, determine the capacity of the lift points, and calculate the angle imposed on the handling gear to select the most appropriate gear for the task at hand
• Erect, maintain, and dismantle various types of scaffolding throughout the shipyard
• Must be able to calculate weight and center of gravity
• Determine capacity of the lift points
• Calculate angle imposed on the handling gear

Hours

Must be open to all 3 shifts

• 1st shift: 7am-3:30pm
• 2nd shift: 3:30pm-12am
• 3rd shift: 11pm-7am

Pay

$22-$27.31 Hr

$135 Per diem if you qualify
