Job summary

Switch is seeking a RIG Electrical Journeyman to install and maintain electrical infrastructure in mission-critical data center environments in Michigan. You will Work safely on live electrical equipment, follow Switch SUPERNAP standards, and support AC and DC power systems with attention to detail.

You will read drawings, install conduit and wiring per specs, terminate breakers, and train team members on Switch procedures while maintaining high workmanship standards in a dynamic data-center

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state Journeyman Electrician license and be able to work in mission-critical environments.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship or 8000 hours of electrical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC and grounding systems and NFPA 70E safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical receptacles, junction boxes and related hardware.
• Install and secure conduit up to 4 inches in diameter.
• Pull and install wire according to drawings and specs.
• Safely terminate breakers per installation documents and NFPA rules.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and installation sheets.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and report hazards.

The Role RIG Electrical Journeyman

As a RIG Electrical Journeyman you install and maintain electrical infrastructure in accordance with Switch SUPERNAP standards You support AC and DC power systems grounding systems and related electrical components in mission critical data center environments This role requires safe execution attention to detail and the ability to work independently in live electrical settings

What Youll Do

• Install electrical receptacles junction boxes and associated hardware
• Install and secure conduit up to 4 inches
• Pull and install wire according to electrical drawings and specifications
• Safely terminate breakers in accordance with ICR and installation documentation
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and installation sheets
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Identify and report safety hazards or concerns
• Maintain required tools and equipment inventory
• Train team members on electrical procedures aligned with Switch standards
• Perform work on live electrical equipment in compliance with NFPA 70E and internal safety standards when authorized

What Youll Bring

• Required Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the state of employment
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or 8000 hours of electrical experience
• Working knowledge of AC DC and grounding systems
• Understanding of construction field safety requirements
• Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 poundsAbility to work safely around live electrical systems
• Preferred Experience working in data center or mission critical environments
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E requirements and hot work procedures
