Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the state of employment.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or 8000 hours of electrical experience.
• Working knowledge of AC, DC, and grounding systems.
• Understanding of construction field safety requirements.
• Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely around live electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical receptacles, junction boxes, and associated hardware.
• Install and secure conduit up to 4 inches.
• Pull and install wire according to electrical drawings and specifications.
• Safely terminate breakers in accordance with ICR and installation documentation.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and installation sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Identify and report safety hazards or concerns.
• Maintain required tools and equipment inventory.
• Train team members on electrical procedures aligned with company standards.
• Perform work on live electrical equipment safely.

The Role: RIG Electrical Journeyman

As a RIG Electrical Journeyman, you install and maintain electrical infrastructure in accordance with Switch SUPERNAP standards. You support AC and DC power systems, grounding systems, and related electrical components in mission‑critical data center environments. This role requires safe execution, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in live electrical settings.

What You’ll Do

• Install electrical receptacles, junction boxes, and associated hardware.
• Install and secure conduit up to 4 inches.
• Pull and install wire according to electrical drawings and specifications.
• Safely terminate breakers in accordance with ICR and installation documentation.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and installation sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Identify and report safety hazards or concerns.
• Maintain required tools and equipment inventory.
• Train team members on electrical procedures aligned with Switch standards.
• Perform work on live electrical equipment in compliance with NFPA 70E and internal safety standards when authorized.
