Greenwell Foundation operates as a non-profit entity in the beautiful Greenwell State Park situated on the Patuxent River in Hollywood, MD. Our mission is to provide educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs for people with and without disabilities. We promote overall wellness of mind, spirit and body with programs designed to encourage a sense of well-being and connection to the beauty which surrounds us in nature and in all people.

Riding Instructors for the Greenwell Foundation teach and lead participants both on the ground and while mounted on the horse. They are responsible for the safety of participants and horses before, during, and after lessons.

Riding Instructor Duties

• Display a strong knowledge of riding techniques and equine behavior
• Provide lessons tailored to the skill level of riders
• Cover basic and advanced techniques based on the rider’s skill level
• Develop lesson plans for lessons for each rider
• Develop progression goals for each rider, ensuring continuous improvement and skill development
• Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all riders, regardless of age, abilities or experience level

Certifications

• Background check required

Must be 18 years or older.

This is a part-time position with no vacation time or paid benefits. Salary: $16 -$18.00 per hour based on experience and credentials
