Job summary

Lactalis USA in Buffalo, NY seeks a Supervisor for Ricotta Production. You will oversee daily production, quality, and people, ensuring safe, efficient operation and timely reporting. This role requires leadership to maintain production standards and coordinate with the Ricotta Production Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in business administration or dairy science preferred.
• 3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures department is running in a smooth and efficient manner.
• Assist operators in set up and start of production.
• Ensures quality control checks are performed by department employees.
• Verifies proper recipes used for production.
• Completes and maintains appropriate paperwork/reports.
• Verifies operator logs each hour with signature.
• Verifies moisture checks are performed on all lots.
• Tours entire room on a half-hour basis.
• Ensures sufficient manpower is scheduled for next day's activities; adjust as needed.
• Ensure sufficient supplies (salt, stabilizer, Vitamin A, etc.) for the day.
• Maintains employee records including attendance and write-ups as needed.
• Maintains open communication with all ricotta department employees.
• Identify, investigate and resolve problems in the department.
• Ensure all department employees adhere to GMP and QC policies in plant and surroundings.
