Job summary

Rauch, Inc. is hiring a Community Support Professional in New Albany, Indiana, to provide community-based respite support to individuals with extraordinary needs. The role enhances quality of life through promoting independence and community involvement while ensuring health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver respite services as per Individualized Support Plan (ISP).

  • Complete service notes and medication records accurately.

Job Title

Community Support Professional – Respite

Overview

Provide community-based respite support to individuals with extraordinary support needs. This role focuses on enhancing quality of life by promoting independence, community participation, and meaningful daily experiences while ensuring health, safety, and person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver respite services in alignment with each individual’s Individualized Support Plan (ISP)
  • Support individuals with daily living skills, personal care, and community integration
  • Foster independence, self-advocacy, and informed decision-making
  • Provide transportation to community activities, appointments, and services as needed
  • Monitor individual progress and communicate updates to the team
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including service notes and medication records
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and community partners
  • Support individuals in leisure, recreational, and social activities
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency support when necessary
Qualifications & Skills

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Every other weekend
  • Provide personal care (e.g., toileting, bathing, feeding) with dignity and respect
  • Safely assist with transfers and mobility support
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations
  • May be required to provide support in other Community Living programs (e.g., Supported Living, In-Home Services) as needed
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
Certifications & Training Requirements
  • CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification
  • Certified Restraint Training
  • Core A & B certification
  • Completion of required agency and regulatory trainings (e.g., Human Rights, Safety, Medication Administration)

$350 sign‑on bonus eligible position. Must be scheduled a minimum of 20 hours per week for the sign‑on bonus.

Education / Experience Requirements
