Job summary

UFC GYM Downtown Pittsburgh is seeking a Group Fitness Instructor to lead energetic, music-driven classes and help participants reach their fitness goals in a safe, fun environment. You will plan routines, cue movements, ensure safety, mentor participants, and coordinate with staff to deliver engaging group sessions on scheduled shifts.

Current Group Fitness certification preferred; experience with cuing and tempo is valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe exercise technique and principles.
• General understanding of human anatomy and kinesiology.
• Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and music/tempo rhythm.
• High energy and endurance to complete each class.
• Ability to connect with diverse participants of all ages.
• Ability to demonstrate skills clearly to participants.
• Ability to provide clear instructions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop a variety of exercise routines and choreograph movements.
• Lead the class by performing workouts with participants.
• Incorporate cuing, tempo and safe transitions between exercises.
• Instruct group formats according to schedule and company standards.
• Greet and orient new participants to the class.
• Educate on proper form, anatomy, contraindications, and modifications.
• Explain and enforce safety rules and equipment usage.
• Motivate participants and maintain exertion levels for benefits.
• Record hours worked and manage attendance.
