Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assistant experience in a clinic or physician office with venipuncture skills.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organization skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EMR systems; basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures and venipuncture.
• Perform phlebotomy, laboratory testing, QA/QC, and instrument troubleshooting.
• Obtain vital signs and document in EMR; prepare patient for examination.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals; maintain patient records and encounter forms.
• Perform EKG testing where applicable and ensure lab results are filed appropriately.
